We rode ATVs and dirt bikes to the Wheeler Geologic Area near Creede, Colorado. This used to be a National Monument but was downgraded because it is so remote.

It's an easy 1 mile hike to see the historic Murray Ranch in Pagosa Springs, CO. Built in the early 1900s, it is now on USFS land along the Blanco River.

We camped at the Mosca campground in the San Luis Lakes State Wildlife Area, located 15 miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park. RVs and tents can camp here.

Explore the Great Sand Dunes National Park! We got caught in a sandstorm of fast-moving sand, which is how the dunes formed. Enjoy RV camping in the area!

We camped in our RV at the La Plata County Fairgrounds in central Durango, Colorado. There are electrical and water hookups available for RVs. Call ahead to make a reservation.

Madden Peak Road (FR 316) dispersed camping is located about 23 miles west of Durango. It is a convenient boondocking location near Mesa Verde.

Camp at the BLM Bank Campground, nestled near the Shelf Road climbing area. The campground is in the Shelf Road Recreation Area near Canon City, Colorado.
